Set up like a traditional office sweepstake, each contestant “buys” a random World Cup team (as an Algorand NFT). After the final (18 December 2022) the owners of the winning team share 80% of the prize pot.

Once each “Shuffle of 32” NFTs has sold out, a new set of 32 will be listed at an increased price, building up the prize pot each time.
80% of the Algorand in the project wallet - that is funds from the NFT sales plus the seed of 50A. The actual figure can be seen in this Algorand wallet which is public and can be viewed at any point.
The price you pay for your NFT is not related to the final payout. All prizes/rewards will be split evenly between winning NFT holders (if there are multiple ‘same team’ NFT holders).
So the earlier you’re “in” the better!
You’ll need an Algorand Wallet with enough funds to purchase an NFT, then head over to the Marketplace at AlgoxNFT. Get in early as the NFTs will rise in price for each new “Shuffle of 32”.
You can trade your NFTs if you like on the open marketplace. What matters is who owns the winning NFT on 12 December 2022. The early bird “first round” of NFTs will be sold at 8A are sold out. The Round 2 Set is now available at 16A each.
Algorand is perhaps the best blockchain technology out there, with a strong and growing community. It’s a carbon-negative, efficient and modern PPoS (Pure Proof of Stake) protocol. It’s been chosen by FIFA as their official blockchain for the 2022 World Cup. It’s fast, secure and, unlike other protocols, has had zero downtime since launch, and has never forked.
Algorand was founded by MIT Professor Silvio Micali, a Turing Award winner, and an important godfather of cryptography – he's responsible for ideas such as probabilistic encryption, zero-knowledge proofs, and verifiable random functions, all used in most modern blockchain projects.
This project is something of an experiment. A test bed for a future ‘trustless’ system.
We’re open to discussions and input on making the prize wallet payout a more ‘trustless’ (automated) event, perhaps using a multi-sig wallet or escrow, even working towards an ‘oracle + smart contract’ automated payout. But this will be a later iteration for another event. At this point this is a low stakes bit of fun for the “AlgoFam” with manual payouts.
